The Racine County district attorney charged a 15-year-old boy Thursday in the stabbing death of his mother in Franksville. A friend identified the victim as Suzanne Gelinskey. Reed R. Gelinskey appeared in Racine County court Thursday afternoon to face a first-degree intentional homicide charge. "In light of his age and of his non-existent criminal history and the mental health overtones that are prevalent in the information that was shared, or contained, within the complaint, I do believe the $50,000 cash bail is appropriate," said Alex Hahn, the teen's defense attorney. The court commissioner set a $1 million cash bond. Read the criminal complaint"This was an extremely violent, but planned offense. It's dangerous in its nature. His original plan was not just for the one victim, but two," Racine County District Attorney Patricia Hanson said in court Thursday. A 911 caller told police she received multiple snapchat messages from Gelinskey, including a photo of "a female laying face-up on her back" and "blood on the floor." The caller said he told her he needed help and that he stabbed his mother to death. Caledonia police arrested the teen after he surrendered at a home on East White Manor Court in Franksville late Tuesday night. Investigators found his mother's body inside the home with stab wounds and blunt force trauma. According to the criminal complaint, when officers arrived at the house, the teen "dropped a brown and silver kitchen knife at the front stoop of the home. He then made statements for officers to kill him and stated, 'She is dead.' And, 'She is dead from what I did.'"The boy told police he came home from school that day depressed and had an urge to kill his parents. He told investigators he had been taking his brother's anxiety pills for the past month and took "approximately nine pills" the night of his mother's death. He said he searched the home for a hammer because he was going to kill his father when he came home from work but could not find one large enough.Gelinskey then told officers that after dinner, his mother was sitting on the couch using her computer, so he started watching a movie. He said he turned on "The Menendez Brothers" documentary on Netflix. The teen stated that he then developed a plan to kill his parents. He said it came to him while he watched the "shotgun scene" in the documentary. Investigators said Gelinskey hit his mother in the head twice with a dumbbell bar, then stabbed her with a steak knife. According to the complaint, he told investigators his mother asked him, "Why?" and he replied, "Pain." The Racine district attorney said he will be charged as an adult. The preliminary autopsy shows the mother's cause of death was multiple force traumas to her chest that caused internal bleeding, the criminal complaint says.
